FAQ
βWhat is a zineβA zine is a fan-made magazine (aka a fanzine) which includes stories, art pieces and other elements about a fandom or other interest. In the past it started with fan-made art and stories being physically bound or stuck together but has now expanded into the digital world.-----βWhat about this Kacchako zineβThe Kacchako Summer Camp zine has been created by three friends who love the Kacchako fandom and have previous experience running an event. The zine itself will be completely free and 100% digital. This means we do not make any profit or money at all, we do not require costs for shipping physical products and we do not pay mods, participants or formatters/editors at production stage. We are running purely on the love of the fandom and having fun!-----βWho are the mods / Who is running the zineβWe direct you to our Camp Counselors page for more information about us!-----βWho can participate in this zineβWe are an inclusive zine and we encourage all creators to enter regardless of prior experience. As long as you are over 18 years old at sign-up date and you can commit to the schedule then we would love to have you on board!-----βI've never been involved in a zine before, does that matterβNot at all! We aim to create a supportive and inclusive environment for this zine. It doesn't matter about prior experience or what you think your skill level is - we want to showcase an array of different Kacchako works!
All we ask is that you read the rules, guidelines (above) and schedule carefully before you apply and if you have any problems after applying, you let the Mods know ASAP.-----βIs this zine restricted to members of Camp Kacchako Discord serverβNo. All Kacchako creators that are over 18 years old at sign-up are welcome to participate!-----βDo I have to follow on social mediaβIf you have Bluesky account then you are required to follow the zine account - you can find it: here.
This is to help Mods communicate easily and efficiently.
If you do not follow the page and miss announcements, we will not repeat these via direct contact because of time constraints and extra workload.-----βHow can I get in touch with ModsβYou can contact Mods in two ways:
1. You can DM the zine Bsky account.
2. Via Discord (DM or in server)We ask that you reserve your queries and questions to ones that have not already been included in FAQ or the Carrd/social media accounts.
If your question has already been answered we will point you back to the information for you to review and find the answer.-----βWhat if I can't meet a deadline or check-inβWe know life can get in the way sometimes, so we ask that you contact the Mods ASAP when you realize or believe you are going to miss a deadline or check-in.
The faster you let us know, the better we can sort things out.
Please do not wait until the last minute to tell us and please do not be unresponsive at these deadlines.
Any missed deadlines will be acted upon at Mods discretion depending on the information garnered for that individual.-----βWhat can I talk to a Mod aboutβYou can contact the Mods for the following reasons:1. You have a question that you can't find an answer to on the Carrd or social media accounts (Bsky or Discord)2. You have a personal dilemma or circumstance that you need to let us know about in regards to your piece for the zine, or deadlines and check-ins3. You have a question about the content of your piece and you don't want to share with other creators because of spoilers4. You spot another participant breaking the rules and want to notify us5. You have been the victim of bullying, hate speech etc by another participant and want to inform us6. You have issues with your partner (e.g. they are not responsive or collaborative (outside of the normal reasons like day jobs and timezones), they are rude or disrespectful, or you two are struggling to communicate and create a piece together despite exhausting efforts to do so)-----
